    Shady Lawn NSMJ TARDIS

    March 20, 2025

Tardis is another jr herdsire we are excited to add.  Both his dam and sister placed 8th at nationals in their classes in 2025.  This buckling has a very deep and wide barrel and shows a lot of spring of rib.  His feet and legs are correct and I am excited to see him grow.  He is also so darn sweet. Excited to see where we go with this guy!

Alpine Specialty Winner 2023 Hoosier Classic

Although Dax has been sold, I am keeping his info available as we have him in the tank for future breeding.

Dax was the very first buck purchased on our farm, and let me tell you, he looked wonkey for the first two years.  He rutted hard and he was a slow grower, then in the spring of 2023 I looked outside and I did not recognize this elegant creature in my buck pen.  His topline became level just like his dam.  His front legs are a powerhouse, a trait from his sire. He walks with utmost strength and so very very uphill. He is so much fun to take into the show ring as he demands your eyes to focus on him.  A very handsome boy indeed.  Sire to Cassie, Jadzia, and Nebula and happy to pass on his strengths to his daughters. Dax is always willing to be a best friend for animal crackers as well!  His semen is available for purchase for $150 for 5 straws. I have him in my tank, and he is also available through Blue Mountain Genetics. https://bluemtngenetics.com/

See our services page to see his genetics flyer or to inquire about driveway breedings.

Reserve Grand River Goat Classic 2025: Karen Akers Smith, Rachel Burchett

    LA: VVV 86 (2025)

Richter is a very dairy buck.  His skin has so much pliability and just stretches like crazy.  Shaving him is absolutely a task.  Due to illness we did not get any kids from him last year and we are  waiting to see if he is no longer sterile.  I went ahead and took him to shows this year as he bounced back from last years near death experience.  He was awarded with reserve grand twice this spring.

Al is a new junior herdsire added to our farm this year.  He is our jr french alpine buck.  So far he has taken either grand or reserve junior alpine buck as shows.  This guy is very long and uphill and has a great side profile.  Yeah, I need another person to help get some good photos, but for now we can use a cute baby picture.

Outlander was added to our herd very late in the year.  We only have a couple of saanen does, so at the last minute I swapped out my bucks. As a yearling outlander is a bucket of parts.  I haven't shown him yet due to this.  he just needs a lot more maturing.  he is exceptionally tall for his age, and has even matured quite  a bit since this photo was taken.  he so far has added exceptional length to his two daughters, and I am excited to see what the future holds for him.
